Luna – Original 1992 Elektra Records LONGBOX CD: Lunapark Comments: I have owned this since it was newly issued. Longbox Condition: This original Longbox looks very good with some wear to note. I gave it a VG grade. Please see the photos for the most complete view of condition because I might not describe everything in words. Use your zoom-in powers for a real close look! General wear / scuffs to the front and back surfaces is pretty light. There are numerous surface creases. A partial crush event must have occurred to cause a vertical valley/dent from top to bottom near the left edge. The side panels are not perfectly squared at right angles with the front and back panels. It appears the box was manufactured that way. Edge and corner wear is mostly mild with a couple of small corner dents seen. The graphics still look stunning, and that helps this longbox be a real good looker even with the noted wear. There are 4 sets of pinholes near corners from spending time on a wall (see my generic explanation below). One of the lower corner pinholes has two exit pinholes on the back. The longbox was carefully opened at the bottom and the flaps are still attached without much wear. The top flaps are still sealed. This longbox has never been flattened and it retains its original 3-D form. CD Condition: The CD is in Near Mint condition except for a few light scuffs near the outer rim outside of the play area. The fold-open front insert and the back tray card are in Near Mint condition. The jewel case is fully functional with some handling and storage scuffs. I don’t see any cracks. Pin Holes Comment: Compared to some of the other flaws a longbox might have (crushed, crumpled, torn, banged up, flapless, flattened), I think pinholes are pretty minor as far as imperfections go. I only make a point of conspicuously mentioning them so you won’t be surprised. Shipping Note: Of course I’ll pack this well for secure shipping. (It is possible that signature tracking will be used when this is shipped to a USA address. If the mail carrier isn’t able to hand the package over in person, then it may have to be picked up at the post office.) Generic Explanation Of My Longbox History and Pinholes: Here’s the deal. When CDs were a new thing looking to be big enough to be seen amongst the LPs and longboxes were in fashion, I always carefully removed the CDs and put the longboxes in a safe place. They were part of the album’s packaging for crying out loud! I couldn’t throw them in the trash anymore than I could throw an LP cover in the trash. Not wanting to flatten the things out, they remained in their 3-dimensional state in box after box that I lugged around through many changes in houses over nearly 25 years. Around 2010, I decided that I had had enough of moving. I also had a large space that needed decorated with a music theme. The longboxes came out of storage and I carefully hung them on my soft walls with long ball-tipped straight pins. Now I’m ready to allow some of the longboxes to find new homes. There will be (generally) small pinholes. Don’t worry about shipping. I won’t flatten them out for convenience. They will be shipped in a box large enough to allow retention of 3-D form with some cushioning to ensure safe travels. Please see the photos provided for more condition details.
