1988 Toyota Pickup JT4RN50R4J0344484 Rare, custom built 1988 Toyota Pickup. This Convertible was built in 1989 for the trade show circuit by a car stereo manufacturer. Prior owner claims the miles are original at 42k. I picked this up in Florida about 2 and half years ago. Good, strong driver. This is a real head turner. Powered by a carbureted 4 cylinder 22R engine and a five speed manual transmission. Rear wheel drive. Gets about 25mpg on the highway. Was built with a “Ratical” brand removable hard top conversion. Unfortunately, the top was stored outside and couldn’t be saved. Definitely a fair weather car, but does come with a black cloth snap of top as show in the pic. Obviously the truck was not detailed and could use a good cleaning and waxing. Very sharp looking car but being over 35 years old, it could use some freshening up. It came with the original bench seat but I replaced it with bucket seats. The bench seat will be included. It’s not rust free but very solid. It has been stored outside the past year under cover and it appears the hood has absorbed some of the color from the cover. The rims are ford mustang. It has a working stereo that still needs proper mounting. When sitting for an extended period it needs a shot of starting fluid to fire it up and runs great after that. When you take for foot off the gas at higher speeds an exhaust pop will be heard. Probable carburetor or shortened exhaust issue. I have a brand new in the box carb that will be included. Could use a new battery. All the lights works good. Gauges work except gas gauge. Emergency brake works. Glass is good. tires are good. This truck has had a ‘reconstructed’ title since inception. The conversion and customization was done professionally and the builder was required by the state to title the vehicle that way since the top was cut off to make it a hard top convertible. It does show the title change on another VIN history report, but apparently not the one eBay uses. I was told this by the previous owner, and I find it credible. TERMS OF SALEMust be picked up in Dalton WI at a mutually agreeable date and time. A non refundable deposit is due immediately upon purchase. Balance due withing 3 days via wire or bank transfer.
