ANCEL PB500 Power Scan Circuit Tester Electrical Power Probe 12V/24V Diagnostic Ancel PB500-12V 24V Circuit Tester With the PB500 probe tester, you can check voltage and ground signals in a typical DC circuit. However, the kicker is that you can also use it to send voltage and ground signals. It works like a test light that can power circuits or provide a good known ground. This way, you can effectively test components and circuits without having to break out the old alligator clips and jumper wires. You can power or ground a circuit directly through the top of the device. Unlike a normal test lamp, this device can conduct direct battery current into the circuit you touch with it. Any time you backfeed a circuit, you need to know what you are doing. The breaker will protect the circuit, but 8 amps is still enough to do a lot of damage with the wrong wire. Voltage Indicator The LED indicator on the front of the unit will show you the battery voltage when it is connected. You can use it to determine a whole range of things. You can even do a quick check of the alternator by plugging it in and starting the car. The voltage should go from about 12.6 volts to 14.0 volts. This is also useful if you have a situation where a power supply has a large voltage drop, if you notice low voltage on certain branches when checking fuses, etc. More uses are worth your expectation！ ➤ Find The Short Circuits: In most cases, a short circuit will appear as a blown fuse or a tripping of an electrical protection device.Use the probe tip to activate and energize each of the fuse contacts..The contact which trips the circuit breaker is the shorted circuit. ➤ Find The Bad Ground: Probe the suspected ground wire or contact with the probe tip. If the circuit breaker tripped, this circuit is more than likely a good ground. ➤ Testing Trailer Lights: While the tool in DC Voltage mode, clip the auxiliary ground lead to the trailer ground , probe the contacts at the jack and then apply voltage to the probe tip. This lets you check the function and orientation of the connector and trailer lights. ➤ Continuity Testing While the tool is in Resistance mode, using the probe tip with chassis is ground or the auxiliary ground lead, continuity can be tested on wires and components attached or disconnected from the vehicle’s electrical system. When the probe tip is contacting a good ground, the LCD will indicate “0.0Ω” and green LED will be on. A beep tone will sound. ➤ Activating Component: The component activation function is designed to generate activation signals to the tested components, such as activating lights, motors and other on-board electric equipments. ➤ Signal Circuit Testing: Once you extract a DTC from the vehicle and realize that troubleshooting begins with some kind of sensor circuit, there is a quick test you can perform to verify the code. Testing your sensor is easy while using the tool. ➤ Voltage & Polarity Testing: While the tool is in DC Voltage mode, contact the probe tip to a POSITIVE circuit. The red LED will light and the LCD displays the voltage with a resolution of 0.1V. A beep tone will sound. If contact the probe tip to a NEGATIVE circuit, the green LED will light and the LCD displays the voltage with a resolution of 0.1V. A beep tone will sound. If contact the probe tip to an OPEN circuit, neither of the LED will light. ANCEL PB500 Product Function:There are four modes to diagnose the electrical systems, which can be accessed by depressing the Mode Button and cycling through each one.✔️DC voltage: While the tool in this mode, contact the probe tip to a circuit, then the LCD display will read the DC voltage with a resolution of 0.1 volt.✔️AC voltage: While the tool in this mode, contact the probe tip to a circuit, then the LCD display will read the Max. voltage, the Min. Voltage and frequency.✔️Resistance: While the tool in this mode, contact the probe tip to a circuit, then the LCD display will read the resistance between the tip and auxiliary ground lead.✔️Diode: In this mode, the probe tip contact the positive terminal of the diode, connect the auxiliary ground lead to the negative terminal of the diode, the screen will display the forward voltage drop, indicates the forward bias. If exchange the probe tip and auxiliary ground lead, the screen will not display the voltage, indicates the reversebias.Trailer WiringThe PB500 Circuit Tester features a long 20-foot cable that allows you to make the initial connection directly to the vehicle’s battery, while providing easy access to connect the trailer harness at the rear of the vehicle.
