Description The KEMPER PROFILER is a dream amplifier that allows you to carry your ideal sound with you anytime, anywhere. The KEMPER PROFILER is a digital amplifier that allows you to fully incorporate the characteristics of your favorite amplifiers, effects, microphones, etc. Since the first LINE6 POD was released in 1997, manufacturers around the world have competed to see how accurately and precisely they can reproduce amplifier simulations. KEMPER’s answer to this is “profiling,” which is also the name of the product, and is completely different from simulation. The KEMPER PROFILER does not simulate in-house, but leaves the profiling to each player, so that each player’s sound can be produced even when profiling the same amplifier. The reason for this is that even amplifiers with the same name will have individual differences, such as the degree of wear of the vacuum tubes, as they are used. Existing simulations reproduce a certain value as a standard, but profiling reproduces the individual. The KEMPER PROFILER actually sends a profiling signal to the amplifier, which then amplifies the profiling signal and plays it on the speaker. The KEMPER PROFILER picks up the sound that is played and reproduces the characteristics of the amplifier. The process called refinement that follows involves the player actually playing the profiled sound and making fine adjustments to produce their own unique sound. In addition, an upgraded version of the product also introduces a new function called “Direct Profiling,” which allows you to profile the sound of just the head without going through a speaker cabinet. The output of the head you want to profile is sent to a direct box, and then returned to the KEMPER PROFILER from the direct box’s line out. This is a profiling method that is especially recommended for those who use heads with built-in power amplifiers. And if you think profiling is too difficult, don’t worry. Data profiled by players all over the world is uploaded to a dedicated cloud, RIG MANAGER. At KEMPER, presets are called RIGs, and KEMPER PROFILER owners can try out and download RIGs on the RIG MANAGER for free. (Some RIGs are paid). Of course, if you are able to profile yourself, you can also upload RIGs you have created to the RIG MANAGER. The KEMPER PROFILER can hold up to 1,000 RIGs. You can think of this as carrying around 1,000 amps. The KEMPER PROFILER is the only digital amp that feels so close to analog. Although it is an amp, it also has over 70 high-quality effects built in, and up to eight can be used at the same time. Just insert it into the recording line and let it work its magic. A test signal is sent from the Kemper Profiling Amplifier to the amp and recorded to the microphone in front of the cabinet. You don’t even need to play the guitar to profile. Within a minute, the Kemper Profiling Amplifier will have acquired the DNA of your amp. Finally, use the A/B comparison mode to switch between the original tube amp sound and the profiled sound and make fine adjustments. This is the quickest and most convenient way to profile. Amplifier Controls The Kemper Profiling Amplifier has the standard Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, and Presence terminals for guitar amps, but like many vintage amps, the Gain control is designed to be unobtrusive. You can find the sweet spot of your amp and always get the best sound at any Gain level. The Gain control has a range of over 80dB and automatically compensates for the volume when in a clean setting. The Kemper Profiling AMP allows you to dynamically adjust the characteristics of your favorite amps, which would not be possible without hardware modifications. You can make any change, from a slightly vintage Marshall Bluesbreaker profile to a more radical vintage Fender Bassman with a higher gain circuit.
