The Alan Parsons Project – Vulture Culture Vinyl LP Carrollton Pressing Club Edition Description The first side of the LP consisting entirely of four-minute pop songs, and the second side having a variety of different tracks including the bouncing instrumental Hawkeye, Vulture Culture is the eighth studio album by The Alan Parsons Project. Released in December 1984 via the Arista label, this album was the last “Project” album recorded on analogue equipment, and as with the previous two, mixed directly to the digital master tape. Compared to Europe where it often reached Top 10 lists and was certified Gold, the album was less successful in North America where it peaked on the 1985 U.S. charts at 46. This particular club edition copy is an excellent example of a Columbia Records pressing from their Carrollton, GA plant. A slight warp does not affect the playability with very light occasional static. It comes with its original inner sleeve that has some cut edges. Grade Cover (Outer Sleeve) Media (Vinyl) Near Mint (NM) Nearly perfect, no writing, no after-purchase stickers, no markings, free of creases, ring wear, and seam splits. Shiny/glossy, no visible surface defects, label is centered, very little (if any) spindle marks, plays without significant surface noise. Excellent (E) There may be very slight ring wear or discolorization that is barely noticable. There may be slight wear, like very minor corner or seam wear or a bottom split that is less than an inch long. There may be a discount notch, drill hole, or corner cut. Slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect playability. May have a slight warp that does not impact listening experience. Very Good (VG) Imperfections are more noticable than above. Ring wear, corner or edge damage will be obvious. Some creases may be visible and seam splits may appear on more than one side, but are not obvious. There may be some writing too. Usually have some scratches that may be audible, especially in soft passages and during song gaps. Any noise does not overpower the music and is otherwise a fine listening experience. Minor writing, tape or a sticker can detract from the label. Good (G) There is significant ring wear, corner and edge damage and heavy wear. There may be heavy writing, tape, or stickers, or residue left from a removed sticker. Seam splits are obvious and significant. Plays through without skipping but there is significant surface noise and the label may be worn. The surface has long since lost its luster. Fair (F), Poor (P) Heavily damaged. Entire seams may be split. Significant warping, noise and skipping. We believe the bar is set so high with the mint grade that we don’t use it. As Goldmine says, “These are absolutely perfect in every way.
